| Does anyone else find eBay disappointing sometimes? |

I've realized, that everytime I buy from ebay, I'm utterly disappointed at my purchase for some reason... I've bought about 6 pairs now and every single one has some degree of disappointment, maybe I'm expecting too much out of them?
All the shoes I've either found or been given to me have been extremely satisfying though... I mean... technically there isn't any difference between a trashed shoe bought online and a trashed shoe found on the ground is there (given the fact that the owner complied with your requests of not cleaning it)?

I would agree in part. I've bought a fair few heels on eBay. Some I've hated and most of the others have been nothing better than ok. That was until I recieved a pair of patent pink Aldo platforms I bought. They were everything I'd hoped they would be. I got them about 3 months ago and haven't cummed in any other heels since! They turn me on so much. Il post some pics of them when I get my internetz back.

There's probably a lit of reasons why dissapointment creeps in. Also advertising can be s little false with exaggerated condition etc.
I am hypocritical in that we've sold so many on eBay but personally I wouldn't buy any that way. For the simple reason a strangers shoes who I've never seen don't have the same effect. Let me clarify, if there was a stranger at a friends house or any other situation and i saw her with her heels etc then got the chance to have a play ad I found her attractive then sure, as I've seen the owner.
But for me buying off eBay you could be getting a 65 year olds shoes or someone who I really no not find attractive to say the least. This mat sound elitist and prejudicial but it's just my opinion.
On the contradictory note, I would probably buy off the genuine ladies on here as I/we know them to a degree and have seen pics of the shoes and their use etc so in a way we sort of know the person so the shoes would be a turn on. But just bought from some random person on eBay for whom 90% now do it purely for business just isn't a turn on.
I see some sellers started out like us, selling own well worn shoes where now they have 1000 plus ratings. I'm sorry but no one has that many well worn shoes so they are being bought off other ebayers, then re advertised and sold on for higher. To me personally there is no turn on about that. Just like pro pictures for example. If someone is doing it just for a business and not for the love of it then all turn on goes right out the window hence I would never buy off a total stranger on ebay, as most of the time its a load of bullshit.
However, if you are different from me and are turned on by a shoe no matter who's it is and where it came from then of course, great - ebay is perfect for you. We just have different viewpoints.
Like I say, this is just part of my feelings on it

I agree with Mr WAS, but with a couple of differences.
Whilst there is a definite link of attractiveness between the shoe and the wearer, for me, I'm less bothered by that than Mr Was. In fact, 99% of my (admittedly very small) collection came from Ebay and charity shops so clearly I never knew the wearer.
But a pointy, high heeled, black patent pump deserves to be 'celebrated' whoever the original wearer. I knew a woman in her mid 70s who wore heels like that: I would have gladly screwed her and her heels given the chance.
Actually I've never purchased from the Ebay for my own use. But I've bought half a dozen pairs for Mrs Jones. She doesn't mind wearing other womens' shoes. And it can be a cheap way to get some nice quality heels for everyones' pleasure. I'm looking there atm, as Mrs J wants more shoes.

As I have mentioned before, Craigslist allows you to meet the owner of the heels you are buying. Sometimes, that in itself can be disappointing. But if you ask enough questions ahead of time, it increases the likelihood of a pleasant experience.

I’ve had no problems buying on Ebay because I have certain personal rules that I follow…no matter what.
I usually stay away from Ebay stores or Home stores, even if they have the shoe I want and the price is very low. Instead I look for individual sellers who have a profile picture or information of who the shoe belonged too. If it doesn’t have this information, I won’t make a purchase. I just wait for another seller to come along offering the same shoes.
A lot of individual sellers have one or more pairs to sell and they’re all the same size, which pretty much tells you they belong to the same person…unless they’re selling their daughters shoes as well.
If you’re curious about the seller you can always google search their ID and see what comes up. I found a few sellers using the same ID (or part of it) on other sites such as MySpace, Facebook, HiFi, LinkedIn, etc. By doing this, I was able to find out who the seller was and what she looked like.
On seller I google searched, I found her Myspace page and where she works, at a Hooter’s Restaurant in Orlando Florida. Another seller I bought from is a 26 yr old registered nurse from Hawaii. One of my favorite shox belonged to a 34 yr old Optometrist in Colorado, her public business page has a pretty photo of her
With a little searching I even found a college freshman’s Facebook page, who I bought a pair of cheerleading shoes that she had since last year (as a senior in high school I’m guessing.) She now attends the University of Kentucky.
If the seller doesn’t mention the shoes are cleaned, I’ll ask them to send them “as is”. So far, the pairs I’ve gotten arrived with some kind of musky odor.
If you have a pretty good idea of who you’re buying from, after the purchase you can confirm the persons name from your Paypal account, as it tells you who’s account your sending money too.
So sticking to these rules, I’ve been lucky enough to be satisfied with the shoes I’ve gotten off Ebay.

I know what you are saying is right in one respect, but that still doesn't weed out the sellers who are doing it just for business. For instance, when I started there were a few girls all doing it as i used to see the same usernames. However, I now see those usernames with over 1200 feedback etc so they are genuine sellers who started out selling their own footwear. You can also see pics of them personally. But a lot of them are buying shoes off eBay and then re listing them as their own well worn shoes etc which is just a joke, because no one goes through that many shoes. So again, you still don't know who they came from. You just know the re seller so again, i would refrain from this also.

Wow! I never actually knew people did that... it seems kind of underhanded... the resale and stuff.. I'm guessing these are the people who have the "buy it now" prices absurdly high (I saw a pair of converse the other day going for 400 on buy it now). I guess you just can't trust everything on the internet these days, maybe one day I'll gather up the courage to do craigslist or a garage sale hah...

i would have thought the best way to get shoes would be from members here if you can come to some arrangement. the anonynimity thing always puts me off tho... wish someone could come up with something everyone was happy with - i thought SJ was going to develop this idea at some point??

Perfect example: a seller like Ms. Bella. Their heels go for ridiculously high prices, taking advantage of our fetish. It's not fair for dirt poor folks such as myself.

Do not always dictate authenticity. People will demand high prices where they think they can get the money, thats just business. Especially in something as secretly in demand as this, when i started i used to get at least £40-50 for each pair without fail, that was just bids. Now you are lucky to get a tenner half the time because eBay is so flooded from these bulk buyers and sellers. So no, the prices don't disctate their authenticity - if someone has a high rating and all they sell is shoes you can rest assured the shoes are not the sellers, as it takes a heck of a lot of wear to make shoes well worn so these people physically can not sell hundreds of pairs of well worn shoes who claim they are all theirs and put their made up bullshit stories about where they have been work etc. Kittybuz is a great one for this. She started like i did, with her own things but now she has over 1000 feedback so she definitely buys and sells on as her own. Although sometimes she is careful with wording and doesn't always say they are her well worn shoes, just well worn in general but then it's misleading to many people who have an interest.
Ill get off my soap box now haha.

Car boot sales, garage sales, flea markets and charity shops offer a great chance of picking up some great heels at bargain prices.
I feel there's a better chance of seeing the heels' real owner at the first 3 methods whilst, naturally, charity shops offer no real chance. (Tho I'm personally not bothered by knowing the real owner).
I suppose the down side is that purchases have to be made in person, and that might be too big an issue for many guys. I decided to confront my own fears about buying womens' shoes by buying them! The seller just wants the money, anyway, and there's never been any been any 'funny business' when I - as a guy - have bought used heels this way. But, yes, it does take some coursege.
If a guy's partner / wife is also into heels then it becomes very easy indeed. Mrs Jones is very free in attitude about this sort of thing.
