I have noticed that we now have Site moderators, Site assistants and a Senior site assistant. Just wondering what the job description are and if people have a problem who is it they should be contacting in the first place? Maybe a list of who's who and what they do would be an idea. Especially for the newer members who may need more help with such difficult tasks as posting the right number of pics in the comp amd putting shots in the right category, all the difficult stuff of life ot seems !!
PS just looked at the site rules and cant find anything about how many pics can be posted in the comp. Is this written elsewhere, and the same goes for placeing your pics in the right category, If the "select a category was the defualt then people would then be made to choose rather than just clikcing download. Just a thought

default setting for catergories |
|
good idea RZ, simple and sounds do able... as for the competition, i was sure i read somewhere that one entry per member was the rule... when yr uploading pix its easy to miss the right catergory a couple of times and its a pain to redo into the right one, i wonder if people are put off by doing it cos their scores will disappear? its bin suggested before to have a simpler way of recatergorising without deleting and starting again... can this now be addressed?

Righto Chaps Need some clarification here. The competition rules are pasted on the competition info page I will put a link back from the site rules page to it. Good point. Reference appearance of new titles, I would like to thank CathyC for all her assistance in helping the Hotshoeshots Community grow in a balanced and constructive manner. Cathy is a very well respected member of the Community for her help and guidance for members. Cathy has kindly agreed to act as one of the Senior Site Advisors, and needs your support and co-operation with her endeavour. The site has a very open and tolerant nature, as long as its legal and shoe related then we will not judge anyone for their particular fantasy. We would like the site to be more supportive of our female members however, and treat them with respect if sending messages until you have got to know them. It would be great if even more female members felt that hotshoeshots was a positive environment, and as place that they would be happy to become part of the wider community. The old title of Site Moderator will be phased out, and replaced with Site Assistant. I will post a complete list with links shortly. The prerequisites to become a Site Assistant are: A open and welcoming nature that is not judgemental of others for their inclinations. The feeling that hotshoeshots is your own site, and one that you would be most happy to contribute your time to for the growth of the community and site. An understanding that Members join for a whole variety of reasons, and that for some, this may be the very first experience of discussing or showing their personal interests, and may need to be supported. If you would like to get involved and help steer the site's content, or know of a member who would be good as a site assistant, please let CathyC or myself know or post a new forum and we can discuss it.
Very Best regards This year is going to be awesome for shoe fans!

All sounds very positve SJ, well written too. I understand that Cathy has been quite busy on here without most members even knowing she was a moderator, so i too would like to add my thanks to her, to my mind shes just what a moderator ( assistant) should be, going about her job in a quiet way and not pushing her views as others seem to.
Good idea to have the comp rules clearly laid out, if i didn't see them it would be easy for others to do the same i'm sure. Might be a good idea to post SJ's message on the site notice board so people who dont use the forums will have a chance of seeing it too.
All looks very positve for the future of a really great place to come.
