I will be clearing out all non contributing members profiles: ie. those that have not visited the site for three months, have message boxes full of unopened mail etc. A bit of pruning now will keep us healthy for the new year. Anyone with suggestions for forum clearouts please ask.

Really good idea that, also lots of the forums are old and out of date, many posted by members no longer here, good clear out to kick off the new year sounds good

i agree with the pictures clear out and profiles but the posts on forums are a bit timeless really... its amazing how often the same subject comes up and i think some of them are really helpful and maybe inspiring especially to new members... they can look through the lot at their leisure... just my thoughts

SJ - Concur on the pruning of dead wood members. I agree with the above position on the forums, though. The conversations serve well in archive - plus many of them have inputs from active members that we would do well to keep.

Yes thats what I thought - If I take old forum posts out it breaks the flow of a lot of threads.
You may also notice that some threads indicate 'no posts' when in fact there are posts. This occurs where I have removed posts requested by Members. It seems that once it gets to a 'no posts yet' situation it takes forever to get new posts in that forum.

not that i know of, its easy to delete and reload though, u dont lose the overall votes

So one of the members I know I don't see come online anymore is Lisas_Legs2u. Yet..people comment her. I don't think she's been online for a couple of years.

May I comment on the fact that as a member it is inpossible for us to know who has contributed or not or even been on the site. This is even more difficult for a fairly new member as they have not seen additions made to anyone elses profile. just a thought maybe some sort of list with who has been on line recently?

Yes good idea, this was discussed a little while back - and I'm working on that right now. One of the great things about the community here is that you can see that members who joined me in those first weeks of 2006 are still here - I think of them as the class of 2006. I constantly clear out old 1 off visitors to help keep the site live, and take the point about Lisas_Legs2u. I have left her profile as she has so many pics posted and I know that most often members pop back in again. It would be a bummer for her to have to reload. I'll give it a couple more weeks and if she is not back online by then I will delete her. Last chance guys to take a look.
I have also been really busy on another item that I hope will come as a really good suprise for the hotshoeshots community in a couple of weeks.

I'm proud to be a part of that original group. If I recall, I joined in '06 when there were about 600 members and now there are over 3400. We have Shoejack to thank for keeping this site alive and still as exciting as back then. Happy New Year.

Thank you for your hard work Shoejack. I know it can't be easy to go through all of those profiles and determine which are used and which are not. I applaud your effort to make this site even better than it already is.
