Someone feeling a little miffed they got deleted as they can't follow some simple rules?
Still the same case with yet another stolen internet image which will result in you being removed again.
As for power going to heads - I wish I was that easily pleased. But I do not consider spotting people who jeopardise our site power, I call spotting sheer stupidity a privilege - to preserve the sites existence for all the excellent amateur picture posters we have here.
People who put our beloved site and community at risk by posting pictures which don't belong to them is something that angers all of us which is why it is not tolerated. So, if by enforcing some SIMPLE site policy which is clearly stated all over the site is power, then I must be the lord almighty. But alas, policy is policy and those who can not follow it and then get upset when they are caught out, are most certainly in the wrong place.
Those whoever who accept their mistakes and move on, and abide by policy in future are always welcome back.
However it does beg the question, if it isnt such a "cool" place for you anymore then why come back, unless it is just to winge?
Life would probably be cooler all over the world if it wasnt for law and policy, but guess what - law and policy in countries are there to protect the people. Just as on websites policy is there to protect them. This place would not be "cool" for anyone when it gets closed down because it cant afford to pay the thousands of pounds or dollars fine that it gets for hosting copyrighted images posted by non abiding or inconsiderate members.
If you have a problem with the site policy, then feel free to take it up with Shoejack (the site owner who welcomes the help of the removal of such images and accounts by all site assistants), or just do not visit the site. If you would like to contact the site owner regarding the policy then please do so. Or you can view a recent forum post written and posted by him on the subject here:-

Alas the site is too big and has too many members for Shoejack to monitor so he has several Site Assistants whom help keep the site in accordance with the policy he sets out clearly.
We welcome and want a larger community of user created content. That is the point, user created content. NOT professional stolen content.
So if you would like to post some personally taken pictures, be them candid shots, shoes of your wifes collection, shots taken by you anywhere of shoes then please do so - the more the merrier and im sure you will be praised and enjoy the site more with such pictures. If you choose not to do so, then that is your choice of course.

Ok i too was asked to delete my pics
and after some careful consideration i deleted the offending pics.. its like ..W.A.S.. said its not worth puting the site at risk ...and all the friends i have made on here on some stupid pics ...try not to take it personally. ..what a shock ..was only doing her job.. and really her job is to protect us all...she has my support

I am glad some people understand. Several members just this evening have removed their internet pictures after receiving my emails so we are making great progress.
People just need to understand it is for their own, and all other members benefit in the long run.

Rules about posting other members pictures: One sentance, 15 words.
Rules about posting web finds or professional shots: Five sentances, 74 words.
Easy reading, easy to follow. Don't risk the site by failing to follow a few simple rules.

There are a couple of profiles here that have pics posted of other members. In those cases, I think it ought to be brought up to the person whose pic is being posted to see if they gave permission. Other than that, I am in total agreement with the web shots and stolen pics. I also send out messages and ask that pics be removed, if they are not removed within a specified time, I send them to ShoeJack and let him decide if they should be deleted or not. I have seen alot of folks here remove their offending pics and I have seen others get deleted because they are too hard headed to remove a pic or two....
It really seems like a petty rule to follow, but for some reason apparently it is the most difficult to follow.

Rules are rules. Nobody should be above the "rule" here. That's what makes this such a great site is because of the great personal pics that people submit. Anybody can go to a website and look at pro pics. We come here to see/interact with users and their personally submitted pics.

johnnyjake you post "sneaky" shots, not taken with the persons consent, your current main pic being a case in point. how is that any different to someone posting web pics without the owners consent? look up the word "hypocrite" in the dictionary before jumping into an argument thats nothing to do with you or your second rate pics. i see you did the same thing on another thread. whatacop got you under the thumb?

Is this where we are going with this. There are better things to argue about than a pic. Pointing a finger at someone else is not going to solve the problem that has arisen.
I have no idea what started all of this, nor do I care. My only concern is that the rules be followed, they are not that hard to read or heed. It is clearly stated that web shots are not allowed, Pics taken off of the web with out the owners consent it illegal. Taking a pic of a random stranger walking down the street is not. And if I choose to take a "sneaky shot" of a womans shoes, then technically I own the picture and therefore the rights to do with it what I want. However once again that is not the problem at hand. Rules are rules and they are made to be broken right? But in the case of Hot Shoe Shots we cannot break that rule due to the copyright laws. If the owner of a pic sees it on this site and questions it, The site will be shut down and we will have nowhere to gather and interact with other shoe fetishist. I hope that this does not offend anyone as that is not my intent. Please lets post our own shots and have fun....

Copyright infringment is way too risky to allow. The site is better by far by being the home of unique amateur pics, and a meeting place for like minded people.
It never ceases to amaze me that I have to delete so many new members each day who have posted some cartoon or other crap picture. They want, but won't give anything of themselves, thinking perhaps how cool they will look posting rubbish.
I never think of this as MY site. It is YOUR site, as it is made so much better by your being part of it. So please don't knock those who also feel passionate about it, and try to preserve and improve it. If you see images that threaten our site, send a message and help us clean it up. Just a quick closing note, but a HUGE thankyou to all those who have made a paid contribution - without you guys we wouldn't be having the conversation at all. It would be nice to have the resources of Yahoo or Youtube for a change!

Johnny's so called sneaky shots are totally different to posting professional images.
Posting professional images is not about having the models consent, it is about copyright infringement.
Sneaky shots, are also known as candid shots and are very common. They are different because they are taken by the member themselves, so therefore copyright is not an issue as they are not professional pictures from which someone else makes a living off.

Are you so angry because you simply don't want to follow rules therefore shouldn't be here anyway, or are you illiterate that you cant actually read the rules? Then I could understand about your childish behaviour but otherwise I do not?
So please do not take a pop at abiding members for being able to, and being willing to follow a couple of simple rules.

As for nothing to back it up - that is because as you fully well know, there is only one person who can delete accounts and that is SJ - I can not do them myself, I just recommend who should. Well thankfully, not the utter prat has gone.

i am free to comment on anything in the forums, also free to have my own opinion... my point was, there was a lot of discussion in the forums that just seemed to be there for show.. all of the comments between administrators could have been either left in the administrators forum or by private message... i can see that it was done as a warning to other members not to take the route of posting web pix, and as such it probably worked to some extent, could have gone down better without all the back slapping maybe, but i can see its an ongoing problem.
Thank u SJ for telling me what i really asked, why the profile was still there... still dont know who it was but i guess i never will...
as for personal remarks by WAS i expect nothing else... if we all dont agree with her methodology there is always a back lash...

Lets try to keep it more simple in the future and keep on a standard process. Much of the warnings could be sent by private emails with a simple direct warning to offer a chance to correct the issues that conflict with the Terms/Conditions of the site. After that the members status and abuse gets forwarded to the Captain for action. The name calling, personal put downs, letters, legal discussions on what a copywrite is should be handled by private email only or posted by the owners of the site unless authorized by them to an monitor assistant. So theres some things done back office and others done upfront for all members to consider. But this is only a brain storming suggestion to be added to the owners considerations. thanks.

I guess need to add a short additional comment to round out my views on this. Policing is never fun. Its lots of work and theres aways some 10% who are just way out there & dealing with them to comply is difficult an often only a heavy hand gets attention. So keep in mind the risks at hand & the moderators volunteer work & time is much appreciated by all the remaining 90% of members who comply and take the time to READ THE RULES. thanks. Stu

I think that a simple message sent to the offending member by an administrator should do. I have started sending very polite messages stating that the offending images, comments, whatever, need to be removed or action will be taken. It generally works. If I don't see action taken by the member, I then forward it to SJ and let him decide the best way to handle it. I am not here to make enemies or tick anyone off, although I am sure it does when they get a message stating that something needs to be done. So I think a subtle approach should be taken in the beginning and if after a attempt has been made to remedy the situation, then a heavy hand maybe the way to go.
