Has anyone noticed the marked increase in perfect 10 scores on some of the member's pictures? How is this happening? With over 14,000 pictures on the site, the odds just don't work that way. Is it possible that people are seeking out their own pictures and giving them 10 scores? It seems like the ratings section brings the pictures up randomly, so to click through until you found one of yours would take forever.

I did a little test and went to the "rate" section and began rating. Spent at least 15 minutes and never even got to one of the 20-30 pictures that I have posted. It was interesting that certain posters showed up over and over, sometimes back to back. I still don't understand how these pictures are sorted. Perhaps Shoejack can give us an explanation.

So that raises an interesting point. when you go to a specific persons pictures, it gives you a chance to rate their "main" picture. Does this go into the overall rating as well as the rate section? Lisa has some killer pictures and what I admire about her the most, is you know she is real because some of them are full body shots. Lisa, you rock!

This is a post from shoejack a while back. You need to search for post before you decide to post someting that's already here.
There are two methods of rating: the overall members profile and the individual pictures.
To rate a members overall profile select the member from anywhere on the site and especially from the right hand side 'top lists'. If the rating bar is at the bottom of the picture you are rating the overall profile. To rate a picture it must be selected from the 'show .. ' on the top left hand menu. The rating bar is then at the top of the picture. Because there are thousands of pictures on the site it may take a while for all of your pictures to be individually rated. It is not possible to select a member and then rate each of their pictures individually.
If you find a member who's pictures you especially like then add them to your favourites list so that you can find them again easily.
You can also search for members by country, town, age or type of picture.

I posted a number of new photos as most of you know, within two days when I looked at My photos at My member area almost ALL of My new photos were rated a 1, that's it a 1.
I no longer care about the ratings...I look at the comments at the bottom of My page and I see what you guys and girls think of My photos, and the messages I get from alot of you are My ratings. I have talked with other women who have put up hot photos as well and got a 1.
I will continue to post photos that you have asked Me to do, and as long as you enjoy My legs and heels and the rest of Me, I will be here to make you hard or wet, so screw the whale crap that is giving some of us a 1 and lets keep enjoying each others erotic and wonderful photos....Who is in line first for the heel job!!!!!......:)

I was reading a blog when I first joind Hot Shoe Shots about people voting with low numbers on purpose. Is it because their trying to boost their own numbers or just to be vinicdctive and nasty. ALL of my photos are original and we try to appeal to most tastes on this site. In my opinion, I don't think that any of these shots deserve a 1.
Not everyone has to like what you upload. I have my own perferences, but if something doesn't suit my taste or interests, I just don't vote on that picture. I have no problem with someone giving my pics a 5, but some of this voting i feel is either to be mean or to boost your own vote.
I didn't think that this would bother me but apparently it does.
This is suppose to be fun for people with a common interest. The idea I thought was to have fun and enjoy each others pictures.
Now that I've gotten that off my chest, I would like to hear other members opinions on this.
I've met some nice people on this site and hope to meet many more in the future.
Sorry, but I had to vent.

I am keeping a close eye on the ratings now. Some members were simply clicking through the pictures and giving every pic the same rating. We know that this causes distress to the members who have been kind enough to share their pics with us all.
If I find that a member is doing so I send them a polite note to alter their voting pattern. Failure to acknowledge the spirit of the site and consider the feelings of its members results in the expulsion of that member.

I see that the last post on this thread was in February 07. Yet some things are still the same. I just received several ones in my original photos. Getting 1 point is a bit of an insult considering the amount of time and effort in setting up and posting the photo. I rate any photo that is technically acceptable no less than 4 or 5. If the subject, lighting, composition or angle are more interesting I rate the photo higher. If it is not a photo that suits my taste I would just pass on it. I believe that two things would help. Some basic guidelines for new members with respect to rating photos would be nice as I myself had to do considerable amount of digging to find these topics in the forums. Secondly, a button to skip to the next photo with instructions on when to use it may also prevent some of the many 1 scores given.

These are the same problems that come up on a regular basis, if everyone was thinking the same as you it would be great, but for some giving low scores is there idea of fun and maybe if we all stopped reacting to it they would get bored and go muck up someone elses game!!
Lots of the site rules aren't very clear unless you go look for them or ask someone who's been on here a while, so maybe we need a page deicated to the rules in simple to understand lingo, then there is no excuse for anyone!!

Maybe one answer would to be to limit the number of votes in any one day. Another way would be to only rate 10 photos per day, and put them in order of preference. Alternatively you have only five of each vote each week, so you would have to choose more carefully where you placed them.
i.e. once you had used up five 1's or five 3's, you would have to use a different value or not vote.
Hmmm the more I think about it, the harder it gets....the voting system I mean!
