some sites do say for extreme heels go a size bigger but mostly you order the same size... trouble is, when you stand in them the height of the heel pushes your foot down and it slides forward making the heels look too big and causing a lot of pain on occasion... some have a suede insole which grips the foot and holds it in place.. as for every day shoes, its the same as you have found, depends so much on the style ie round toe or pointed, slim fitting or wide, closed pump or peep toe... its a minefield out there lol
