I do agree with this to be honest. Women should not be FORCED to wear them, as some women simply cant. If women choose to for whatever reason then great, but no one should be forced too

No body is forcing woman to wear high heels. But it's wrong to make everybody suffer for a few woman who don't like heels.

You are wrong in this instance I am afraid
There are several employers whom force their employees to wear heels. Air hoestesses are the obvious (all be it 3 inches) however when you go into department stores, a lot of the girls their are forced too. Just as when I was shopping for CL's, all the girls were in 4 or 5 inches and when my BF asked about it they said its part of the uniform
So some women are forced to wear them. Which is not right.

Isn't this story about banning women from wearing high heels? Not forcing women to wear high heels.

No billy. Although the title of the thread is this, it related to the TUC wanting to ban being forced to wear heels in the workplace. Not ban them all together. Just banning the wear of them as part of a uniform.
As for virgin - well no, not every airline wears heels but a lot do. I know what you mean about that advert! As soon as I saw it I kind o just tolled my eyes back, turned and looked at my BF and his tongue was on the floor! haha. So they should be sued for false advertising! haha.

Every employee should follow policy. If they don't agree with it, get a new job. It's all for the good of the order.

@johnny "Every employee should follow policy. If they don't agree with it, get a new job. It's all for the good of the order."
Well, yes, doing what your job demands of you is right. My problem comes when the policy is wrong. I agree with WAS, women should not be made to wear them, some women truly cannot wear them right.
So they're basically discriminating women who have feet/leg problems, when wearing heels is something that most of the time has no effect over their actual work, they just "look better"(according to the company's policy, whose to say what "pretty" is, really?)
I'd love to see more women wearing heels, just like everyone in this site. But not if they don't want to. :

Couldnt agree more! That is why professional modelling isnt always sexy, as the people are wearing what they are paid to and that isnt sexy to me. Something is only sexy when someone wants to do it so I am with you there.
