Incase you are not aware of how this site works, or incase you have not read the rules and regulations I will copy and paste from the homepage the site owners rule
"Hotshoeshots is about our own amateur pictures. Amateur doesn't have to mean second rate: for the vast majority of members they are far more exciting than posed professional shots, and importantly for a Independent shoe community such as ours, they do not infringe other peoples copyright.
So if you have professional images or any shots which are not your own on your profile I ask again that they be deleted immediately.
We will not risk the site - do not be suprised if your profile is removed.

People ask every day on her about yahoo and msn. I do say there are plenty of functions on the site to converse but no one seems to take any notice

I think that the Chat room is not used because every one on here could see what is being talked about. I am sure that there are some folks that want their privacy when chatting. Hence the use of Yahoo or MSN. And you are right people ask everyday and just because they have a professional pic posted, albeit, not allowed, does not mean that they should automatically shot down.

As you say yourself 'all be it not allowed'. If people can not abide by the rules set out by the site owner, therefore putting the site at risk then they should not be here. As for 'a' pro pic, there isn't just one - there are more pro pics than amateur. Therefor they are not bein 'shot down'. They are being made aware of the site rules and being given thr opportunity to remove the pictures themselves before their account is deleted. Therefore trying to save any effort made on the amateur pics.
The use of msn and yahoo is not appropriate fot all people including myself because every single member asks for it. Therefore every time I used to log in I would get 20 windown open up all from people wanting to talk about shoes and if you don't answer them all they can get stroppy hence why I don't do it now.
If people don't want others to see what they are talking about then they can use the site email. Simples (as the merecat would say).

All good points. I agree with the rule on professional pix. I know that there are many people on this site, myself included that do not have any pro shots and we post only our own original material. But maybe there should be some sort of screening process to stop people from joining that use a web shot or pro pic. They generally are not very hard to pick out. Maybe then there will be nothing but personal shots on here.
As far as MSN/Yahoo goes. That is fine. there is nothing wrong with not using it. And using the sites e-mail messaging is fine but they don't get answered all the time either. I understand getting chat requests all the time gets old. I see my wife getting them everyday and when she is online, there are, like you say, 10 -20 people trying to talk to her at once. I did not reply to start an attack, just wanted to give my own opinion....

I did not join this site to get shot down and i certainly didnt join the site just to post internet pics - i can look at them anytime i like.
I joined this site to get an idea of what other people like. I have just invested in a digital camera and over time i think you will notice that my profile will become very much 'Personal' pics for everyones enjoyment who is on this site.
May i also point out that although some of the pictures on my profile are what you would call professional or STOLEN the gothic model is actually a very good friend of mine.
I didnt come on here to make any enemies i joined to make friends who like the same things as me. I have a new camera and a VERY willing older girlfriend so please give me a little time and you will see the results.

Users are allowed to stay yes, which is why they are contacted first and asked to remove the pics themselves before the member gets deleted.
As for the model being a friend of yours, that may be the case but unless you took the picture and own the copyright then its still dodgy. My friend is a glamour model and had some gorgeous shots she wouldn't mind me using, but I do not own the copyright so I do not as per the site rules.
On one of the pics there is also a logo from another site suggesting stolen images.
You may be here to make friends and that is fine, that's what some are here for, however we ask that you remain in accordance with the site rules as specified by the site owner on the home page. This site is no different to any other club which has rules and regulations so with fairness to others and to ensure the sites, security, integrity and its future people must abide by the site rules. It isn't hard.
I am glad your collection of original, personally taken pic will grow for others to enjoy but you understand the regulations.
Mfdff, yes I'm sure there needs to be greater screening on members pics before approval, I will have a word and see what more can be done as with anything, prevention is better than cure.

I don't think there is really any way one can prove a copyrighted pic. Some shots are very difficult to tell. I agree that stolen shots should not be allowed. However, it is almost impossible to enforce that rule, it seems to me that it is kinda on the honor system. I suppose that we could get someone to police all new member profiles and see about getting the web shots taken off or canceling the membership right then.
There has to be something... I have read an awful lot of posts about web found pics or professional pics or what ever they are called and it seems to me that they are never going to be completely gone.

back to the chat room for instance... its an underused and underated way of making contact as and when you feel like without getting bogged down with messages either here or on msn or yahoo... also u dont have to give out your personal email details and as far as i know the chat history is not stored anywhere, which has to be a plus for various reasons... if i remember rightly, this new version has more than one room and there is a facility for private chat, all win win??

I did check out the new chat room and you are right.. There is a private area there, and it seems to be set up correctly. I think that it is underused because of the "send message" function. I get tons of messages when I am online, it would be easier to communicate with other members in the chat room rather than thru the messages.

I think that most of us have gotten so used to using yahoo, msn, what ever chat we use. But I think that meeting in the chat room with a few people and talking to all at once may be a good experience. maybe we should set up times for meetings. ie... mondays, meet and chat bout extreme heels, tuesdays-boots, wednesdays-sneakers.... etc. etc. Maybe that would help get some folks using the chat option.

I wonder if for many of us being so open about our fetish is still a bit of a probelm. and one we are happy to chat about on a one to one basis but not as open chat for anyone joining the chat room to read
Also there are such extremes of shoe fetish on here that often you may be chatting with other members who have no interest in your fetish likes and dislikes. Which could be good if your willing to listen and try new things.

There is a private area in the new chat room. This allows you to go one on one with someone you are willing to chat with. Without having to let everyone in the room view what your talking bout. It's a good Idea, just don't know if we can all get used to using it.
