Site rules - Internet pics |
|
Shoejack. Due to your policy - and rightly so of wanting no internet pics here, as it is a massive job for you to monitor, is there anyone else who can do with for you too? Theres are so many profiles now with a few pics of stolen internet shots only, and obviously those with a hundred or so. Is there anything we can do to help get them removed like emailing you or someone else the member name to be reviewed and removed etc? x

I understand the purpose of this site is to foster participation and contribution from like minded people. And as such every photo I've posted is one that I've taken.
But...
Are the re-posted internet pics so bad? I've looked through profiles and seen a lot of stuff that I hadn't found on the internet on my own. While they're not original photos taken in someone's bedroom, they're still new to me and pretty hot.
Am I the only one who feels this way?
Edit: Shoejack
Good point Gnasm and one that many members will agree with - when we ran a members poll it was felt that Members liked to see some web shots for the very reason that you state. HOWEVER - The entire site could be taken off line by a complaint that we allow copyrighted images to be posted, and the anti piracy camp is getting stronger all the time. If you imagine the time it would take to sift through 80,000 pics and remove any that were copyrighted - that would be an awful long time to wait for the site to come back online.
SO Every member by the terms and conditions of this site is claiming the worldwide copyright of every image that they post. If I have a breach of copyright claim IT WILL be directed to the member ( it should be remembered that recent victories by the Anti Piracy lobby have made it mandatory for IP addresses etc to be handed to the relevant authorities in these cases, and that means that your computer will be identified if anyone wants to make a case of it.)

Thanks what a shock! It's a pity that I can't share the admin area with some of the members, we will sort this aspect out in forthcoming sites. I delete Net pics as i come across them, but as you say there are a whole bunch across the site. It would be a real shame if the site was brought down because of members posting copyrighted images, so I recommend firstly that we make all members aware of the policy. It would help if all members reading this post promptly checked their images and deleted any that they do not own the copyright too. Secondly I suggest that Members send messages directly to the profiles of other Members displaying copyright images telling them to remove them in the interests of the site and other members. If no action is taken or the message is unread after a period of time, please let me know and I will remove the entire profile. Many thanks for the post what a shock! SJ

However this has been discussed to death in various posts and while we all have different reasons for hating internet pics, it boils down to the fact that the site owner, deems it that thery should not be here as they are STOLEN images to which the poster does not own the copyright.
That in itself is enough reason for them not to be here - without me posting my own thoughts. We are all here in accordance with the site rules and the site rules are no internet pics.
If you look though the forums there are many reasons for and against internet pics, without discussing it again here (although im assuming it will turn into it again).

No problem SJ, you're welcome.
It must be a mammoth task for you. I will take your advice and email those I come across (which is daily) and take from there.
Thanks for your prompt reply :-)

the best pics for my money are the home grown ones, porn movie pics lack the passion that our own pics do as we are doing them for the love of what we like and they are doing it for the money. (nice work if you can get it) It's the fact that this is supposed to be a shareing site that makes it so good, to see other normal people loving there fetish is inspiring and very sexy too. while i can see one member telling another to get rid of pics i really cant see it happening just like that. It should be site assistants who are helping out with this one otherwise it could seem as if it's personal and look at the forums we already have. Is there anywhere that ordinary members can post complaints of web pics etc for them to be checked out
I had a look on bootshare.net today and it's a very slick site but so boring too, they have lots of web pics on there but the site is not a patch on this one in any respect

Yes I agree with you RF, it should be select admins who does it - however SJ has stated it is technically impossible for this so unfortunately what he suggests is the only way.
I agree also if we ask other members to remove it could just cause argument like what happens in the forums, but there isnt much else we can do if SJ is the only one who can remove them. Other than try politely and then inform him if no action is taken. x

maybe reporting to site assistants would be better, then u dont have to deal with the offending members yrself.. and they can make a list for SJ, may cut down on the culling time

Site Assistants/Select Few |
|
I think a select few would be more appropriate as suggested. Then perhaps a 2 list can be drawn up to be reviewed by SJ however frequently he wants, fortnightly, montly or whatever.
I say 2 lists, as you have 2 cases, profiles with only net images, be it just one, or 40 - so these could be deleted without question.
And a second list as there are soem profiles with 80% original pics and some net finds which would need more attention to just get rid of the relevant images???

Well it works. THis memeber emailed me about something else and I asked politely to remove internet pics, and pointed him to this post to see SJ's words, and he did it. Just leaving his own - and in my opinion much nicer images.
So thank you Sexyheels8. Hopefully they will all be like you.

I just happened to go through the new members area, and there are many new members that have joined the site in the last couple of weeks or whatever. But I realized that as I was going through them, that many of the new members only have one pic... and guess what?? yup, they are generally internet shots. So upon becoming a member, maybe the shot that was posted should be checked out before the profile actually becomes a member. Maybe there could be a member request, where the new "prospect" member could post their photo and a site assistant or SJ himself could review the shot and profile to see if there are any web shots... Maybe that will keep from having any more internet pics posted from the start.

I say, it's up to SJ to decide. users can argue their case and even come up with the link of the pic series to support it. In which case, the newbie would be quickly deleted.

Personally I hate to wait when I join a site, that's why I have set images and profiles to be automatically approved.
As you can see many new members post a web shot when they join. There may be a variety of reasons for this. For example someone may find the site while at 'work' and not have access to their own pics. By making everyone feel welcome and sending them messages they often revert to original images to get Premium membership. Once in a while they upgrade by taking the years membership which helps us all keep going.
Periodically I go through the single shot members and delete them. In fact I can feel an urge to clean them out again coming on.
Well done everyone, it feels great to be part of this fantastic community.

Why do new members post 20 pics of their only high heels taken from every concieveable angle just so they can get an upgrade? I notice a lot of new members do this and was wondering if this was necessary....

I know just what you mean there, but at least they are shoe shots and there own work. And that is all the site rules state they need, would be just too much work to start saying you have to post a min of 4 pairs over 20 pics etc, just unworkable. Lets hope those posting lots of pics of one pair are doing just to see what the site is like and then are inspired to post lots more of the collection too.

I think that the rule clearly states that you may not post professional, web, or copyrighted photos. This is a copyright infringement item and it can be costly to the site and its owner. I don't think it is really that hard to take a picture of a pair of shoes and post them here. Yes, seeing twenty shots of the same pair of heels is not my choice of a great profile, but as RiftZone stated, at least they are original shots. To make this perfectly clear.... JUST TAKE DOWN YOUR WEB FINDS AND COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL THAT YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHTS TO!!!!
Thanks
