First off, I love this site.
I visit it every day, and it's fantastic. Haven't found anything like it. ShoeJack is the man.
That said, I am not bitching, I'm raising an issue because I care.
And that issue is... The Categories.
I read in more than one thread here that people are frustrated by pics being improperly categorized. While this can certainly be attributed to people who don't care, I wonder if it has more to do with people who don't understand.
There's clearly an obvious difference between Slingbacks and Bare Feet Shots, but a few others are more confusing.
Are Found Shoes found on the side of the road, or "found" in someone's closet?
Is a Sneaky Shot a stealthy pic you took of some woman wearing sexy heels, or is a pic of the load you shot in someone's shoe while they were unaware?
It's seems to me that a lot of posters think Female Shoe Play is simply "playing" with a females shoes. So then what's Shoe Fucking?
I'm a dude. If I'm wearing a pair of pumps, do I classify it as TV/CD in Heels or Men in Heels based on whether I'm wearing a dress or pants?
How about Cuckold and Fem Dom?
And what criteria does a heel have to possess to be considered Extreme?
My personal solution would be a button on that nice red bar at the top of the page called Category Guidelines. Have guidelines with written descriptions as well as example pictures.
Again, ShoeJack, you're the man, and all respect. But I think this issue has been brewing for a while.
What do the rest of you think?

I think the extreme category is for exactly that word. There is an imageon here of someone Sh1tting on shoes (YUK) and weeing on them. inserting them "inside" males or females. I think that is what people classify as extreme images

You're proving my point. I thought Extreme Heels were just, like, really tall. Oh, the ambiguity!
I would file scat play, piss, and all the pics I've seen of shoes in toilets under Wet Messy Trashed.
As for female insertion shots, which I happen to be a fan of , it's always been my assumption that they get filed under Female Shoe Play.
Thanks for weighing in though. I'm eager to hear how this plays out.

What you say is a valid point. We all interpret things differently so yes, Maybe a guideline page for the less obvious categories would be good. I concur! haha

I hold my hands up and say - you're quite right, there should be category guidance info clearly marked. Since the picture count shot through the 60,000 mark it also became almost impossible for me to police the images as much as I did previously.
I will get onto creating the guidance page, please feel free to assist if you think it needs amending or I have missed something.
That said - I still think there will be a number of members who will post images in the totally wrong category. I sometimes assume that they feel a 'scattergun' approach to their image posting will assist them in being found more often as the site has grown.
That is another area that I will address this year. The entrance to the channels 'Sexy Shoes' etc can be found below the 'Hotshoeshots Newest Members' text link on the front page. It is quite discreet at present as we previously took down the entire server with the volume of traffic. Once I have a green light I will make the entrance to these groups far more apparent.

i see them as self explanitory most of them
cuckold confuses me as most of them cant really be proved to be, apart from that, extreme heels are 6 inch and above non platform. these could be pumps sandals or boots, which i spose is a bit of a crossover to the boots catergory.
female shoe play i thought was females playing with shoes
men in heels is men wearing heels, whatever else you are wearing
i thought shoe fucking was men fucking shoes lol... ie a dick in a shoe
found shoes i always assume are just that, shoes found in a road or something
there are a few that cross over, and theoretically you could post the same picture in a few catergories, i must admit i used to use the scattergun method with different pictures and it seemed to work.

Is this just a post to try and prove ones intelligence?
They are no "self explanatory" categories to many people as opinion in every person is completely different. So just becasue one person may or may not get everything 99%, doesnt mean newcomers will know - or many others for that matter. The original post still stands - it is a great idea for the vast majority of users

I don't know about people interpreting terms and categories differently or not. I mean there are only so many things that come to mind when you see shoe fucking thats just me though I draw a lot of conclusions like that for some odd reason. But maybe something for people that are new to the whole fetish subculture. The only thing i think confuses me is the whole cuckold category. Not because I don't know what it is it just don't know why it has its own. category on this site that has always struck me as a site more about shoes and shoe fetishes is it because the women are suppose to be wearing heels in the pictures? But if thats they case why can it just go under Couples, because it is a couples act is it not?

Yes the 60% is an guesstimate but know many people will not read the definitions of the categories & 10% do what the fuck they like no matter what rules you post. Then some just are so dense it does not matter what you write they cannot read or don't read English but they love to fuck heels, or in heels or view heels, so.... Shoes ! STU Stick to Shoes, Sex and nasty photos..Oh yeah post some help and category terms for members to follow. Oh,... do we want to get into voting now ?
Lets not an say we did....OK I got to go get a drink & see the little woman in her hot high heels & focus on more lovin....later

I think it's clear to most of us where the pics need to go but we all have different ideas on where that .is, for instance a pic of an man fucking a pair of wedge heel shoes or boots while his wife/ partner is wearing them is able to go in at least 3 categories, and if hes wearing heels and shes toying with a shoe herself then who knows where to post it LOL.
Some guideance would be good but there will always be some shots that cross over many categories i'm sure.

i was asked to give my comments on a post, and i did... the catergory explanations are as i see them, to me the titles on the catergories are self explanitory, maybe thats lost in translation to some... its my opionion and its got nothing to do with intelligence... if that was graded the site would be practically empty...
and YES i do think something to explain the catergories is a good idea, also explanation on how to post different pictures in each catergory would be helpful... to some... as dont forget we havent been back to using the "old system" very long...

I agree that there are some categories that need to be explained. Cuckold is one of those, because the way I see it and the pix that I see are of couples. And as far as couples goes, should the picture of posted in the couples category have at least two people in it or is it just that if I take a picture of my wife that I should be able to post it in the couples area because we are a couple??? Just my opinion and this is something that is surely up for discussion.

ShoeJack, sir - thank you for making this place such a superb place for fun. Thank you for making this place - out of thin air and lusty hope - for us all to enjoy.
And enjoy it I do.
Guidance for categories - an excellent idea.
Expectations that everyone will follow that guidance - hopeful, but not overflowing.
Chances that I personally am likely to get fussy about category compliance - pretty low. I remember a day not too long ago when finding quality pictures of shoes (of any sort) and women (and men) enjoying them was slim to none. A chance brush with a Yahoo Group or other such community - or paid for discreetly. Today I gaze in lustful appreciation for all the variety and satisfaction placed squarely on my lap in living color. I can browse through all manner of variations of interest - some less interesting TO ME than others - and just bask in the happy knowledge that this site exists. Thank you ShoeJack.
Category guidance would be nice, yes. Thanks again.

Sometimes it's not easy for me to keep on top of the site, with only so many spare hours in each day, but when I receive these messages from appreciative members, it makes it all worthwhile. I hope you all continue to enjoy the site.
